Animal reunification across the UK
Helping lost pets find their way home
ALFIK (Animals Lost and Found Information Keeper) is a UK-wide animal reunification platform created to help pet owners, people who find animals, volunteers and animal welfare organisations share information and work together.
When a dog, cat or other animal goes missing, getting accurate information into the right local community quickly can make a real difference. ALFIK provides a place to report lost and found animals, search community reports and identify possible matches.
What you can do with ALFIK
- Report a missing pet: share the animal's description, photograph, last-seen area and date.
- Report a found animal: help the community identify an animal that may be missing from home.
- Search reports: look for lost and found animals by animal type, name, location and details.
- Check possible matches: review suggested matches and compare the information carefully. A suggested match is not proof that two reports concern the same animal.
- Support animal welfare work: ALFIK is developing tools for rescue organisations and veterinary practices alongside its public reunification service.
A community-led service
ALFIK was established through hands-on animal welfare and reunification work. The platform is designed to make sharing information easier and to connect people who may be able to help. Core lost-and-found reporting and searching are free to use.
ALFIK is not an emergency service, does not replace a microchip database, local authority dog warden, veterinary practice or police report, and cannot guarantee that a missing animal will be found. Please contact the relevant local services as well as publishing a report.
